Sometimes, conjugal life may get to be very unpleasant and the couple might discover it is suddenly horrible to be together. When this happens, some couples want to try separating, which can help them work through some of their differences. In some instances, separation is not allowed to the couple due to religious or cultural rules, so they choose to live apart while remaining legally married. It is only after all of these options have been exhausted and not worked that a couple might try a separation. Can this really help save your marriage? It can be helpful in that it can let both partners see what it is like to be apart before making any major decisions on a permanent divorce. The lack of daily arguing and unpleasantness between you can also give you some space to feel better about yourselves and remember what it is that you like about each other.  You can have time to think about your marital problems objectively. This makes resolution of the problems much more likely. In fact, sometimes a trial separation is your best chance to save your marriage and have the happiness return to it.
